Congratulations, Alyson and Chris! This June, I had the honor of photographing their beautiful wedding day at Mallard Island Yacht Club, one of my favorite venues in New Jersey. Alyson and Chris infused their day with so many personalized details – like a watercolor of their boat in their invitations, their college flags waving proudly above Mallard Island Yacht Club and the most fun marquee lights of their new last name. It was a beautiful, unique, and super fun celebration for the new Mr. and Mrs.!
Mallard Island Yacht Club Wedding
Alyson got ready at her mom’s house, which is across the way from Mallard Island Yacht Club. From the roof of her mom’s, we could see the venue and had a gorgeous view of Barnegat Bay. After her hair and makeup was done, we all headed to Mallard Island, where Alyson and her ladies prepared for the day. I am SO obsessed with Alyson’s gorgeous robe from Voir Robes in New York City – it was stunning and elegant, a wonderful touch for her getting ready moments. Before getting into her wedding gown, she and Chris opened the gifts they’d sent to each other’s suites. Chris gifted her a Marc Jacobs handbag and she gave him a boudoir album (he was shocked!).
Chris arrived by boat (his boat named “My Buddy” in honor of their dog!) to the venue before meeting with his beautiful bride, and it was a super fun touch to their day. Mallard Island has some great options for portraits and first looks, so for Alyson and Chris, we chose to meet under their brick archways. It was a gorgeous backdrop for their big reveal and allowed them some privacy and quiet! I captured some portraits of Alyson and Chris there before heading up to the roof for some classic shots with Mallard’s red roof. We ended their portraits back in the chapel with their dog, Buddy. I love that they were able to include him in their big day!
NJ Wedding Inspiration
Alyson and Chris held their ceremony in the chapel at Mallard Island Yacht Club. This spot might be one of my favorite things about the venue. The chapel is just so romantic and quaint. It’s always beautiful for ceremonies and I will never tire of photographing it! After Alyson and Chris were announced as husband and wife, we headed out to the dock for some sunset photos. Alyson wore her “Hey Dude” sneakers for pictures on their boat and we even got some incredible drone shots of them!
The rest of the night was a big party! Alyson and Chris had a seriously gorgeous reception with white florals everywhere you looked. It was stunning. They also had some fun signature cocktails – his was “My Buddy” and hers was the “Barnegat Bay Breeze”. They also chose to have a live painter at their reception who was working on a photo of them on the dock. It was really fun to watch her do her thing! Alyson and Chris truly wanted their guests to have a great experience at their reception and I think they absolutely did!! With delicious drinks, a 360-degree photo booth, a second look for the bride (such a CUTE little white dress!!), and a full dance floor, Alyson and Chris kicked off this new chapter of their lives in style!
Congratulations again, Alyson and Chris! Enjoy your trip to St. Lucia this winter!!
