Congratulations, Sarah and Steve! This fall, Sarah and Steve were married at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club on a rainy October day. Despite the wet weather, the wedding was absolutely stunning! With a little bit of creativity and flexibility, Sarah and Steve had a gorgeous day – and I have to say a huge thank you to them for trusting me to help make that happen!
Wedding at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club
Some of my favorite photos of the entire day were of Sarah getting ready. The bridal suite at Fiddler’s Elbow has a huge, beautiful mirror that we were able to play with during her prep time. The day of Sarah and Steve’s wedding was rainy – on and off all day. Thankfully, Sarah and Steve were willing to be flexible with their timeline so we could capture portraits outside, as well as plenty of inside the always beautiful Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club. We were able to do their first look and some portraits outside before heading back in to dry off. Sarah and Steve had told me early on that they wanted photos at the bar inside the club and they turned out SO fun. I’m honestly obsessed with the variety of photos we got for the newlyweds!!
One of the other really beautiful things about Sarah and Steve’s wedding day was that they wanted to honor Sarah’s dad throughout the day. He passed away before seeing her married, but they included him in so many unique ways including the day, including magnets, napkins and signage that said “love always, dad” in her fathers handwriting and a heart sewn into her dress made from her dad’s denim jeans. Sarah’s sisters concluded their toast by popping open a Miller lite, their dad favorite beer, and taking a swig! It was very sweet and such a special way to include him in everything.
Sarah and Steve, your wedding day was absolutely gorgeous and I’m so happy I could be with you both to celebrate!
How did you meet?
We met at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania in 2013.
The Proposal!
We moved from Hoboken to Morristown in 2021, Steve proposed on a Wednesday night to throw in the surprise factor at Jockey Hollow in the center of Morristown!
Tell us about your photography experience with Susan!
Susan was incredible: her experience and expertise shined through during the planning process but what we loved most was our experience with Susan on the wedding day which was perfection. We couldn’t have imagined our day without her – she helped navigate weather, timelines, and brought so much fun and smiles to our special day. The cherry on top was the most beautiful memories she captured that will last a lifetime!
Why did you pick your venue?
Steve loves golf and Sarah loves the fall. Fiddlers was the perfect place for us!
Tell us about all the details of the wedding!
We dreamed of a wedding where vintage and tradition met modern. We had a traditional catholic ceremony where we were married in a church but for our reception, we loved the blend of a black & white aesthetic with baby’s breath and white roses. Our favorite additions were an old fashioned camper turned into a Photo Booth for our guests, our golf ball guest book, and an armoire filled with cocktails.
Favorite moment of the day?
Our favorite moments of the day had to be on the dance floor with all of our loved ones. Our band (New Power Soul) was electric and kept the dance floor filled all night long.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Kiawah Island and Charleston, SC!
