Living in New Jersey, I didn’t really know what to expect when my good friend and amazing photographer, Tara, asked me to come to Arizona to shoot a wedding with her! I knew the major difference was going to be that I was in the middle of the desert..what I didn’t expect was something called a haboob (a massive sandstorm), monsoon-like rain, thunder and crazy lightning! Yup, the weather was definitely insane that day, but there was also amazing views, an unbelievable barn, a donkey, horses, roosters, and cactus…LOTS of cactus!!! (note to self: be more careful when placing rings on cactus). I literally was in heaven and out of control taking pictures at this wedding, and Tara had to calm me down at times, even cutting me off when I wanted “one more shot” as the lighting was flashing down on the bridal party LOL
The morning of the wedding the girls were having hair and makeup done, and the boys were casually hanging out enjoying a couple “pre-game” beers. Zach is a Chevy guy, but his groomsmen are all Ford boys, so they incorporated that into the pictures, as you will see below! Lauren had an awesome pair of teal Corral cowboy boots that matched the bridesmaids dresses perfectly! Lauren and Zach were the cutest couple! So in love, they couldn’t stop looking at each other at their first look!  We were able to take pictures in this amazing open field across the street from the venue, and that’s when the windy haboob started heading toward us as the sky opened up and it started to pour.  We all ran back inside, waited for the next clearing then came back outside to take more pictures. The owner of the venue was a real life western cowboy, this guy was super cool! He rode around all day on his horse, Blondie, checking on us to see if we needed anything. Since Lauren has ridden horses before, we were ecstatic when he told us that not only could we take pictures with the horse, but that Lauren could ride the horse as well! Those were my favorite pictures of the day, just gorgeous.
Lauren made her grand entrance into the ceremony by horse and carriage! The couple actually “tied the knot” and then we headed back for some pictures outside with the John Deere tractors.
The reception was held in a gorgeous red barn, and they newlyweds made their entrance through the big barn doors. There were tons of string lights, crystal chandeliers hanging, and a huge LOVE sign that was lit up. I truly adored this wedding, and can’t wait to go back to Arizona again!!!
