When I first met with Lea and Michael, I asked them what they envisioned for their wedding. Lea said, ” Very glam! Crystals everywhere, super elegant”, and that’s exactly what it was!
I have seen a lot of wedding dresses…A LOT! I can honestly say Lea’s was one of the most stunning gowns I have ever seen. It was covered in crystals, had a super low cut back (wait until you see how low!) and a blush pink lining. She wore blue Manolo shoes and had a gorgeous headpiece to tie it all together. The bridesmaids wore long, flowy, one shouldered, lace dresses and Lea’s sister, Melanie, wore a blue tux along with the groom (who looked handsome as ever!) and the groomsmen. Lea’s bridal bouquet was a beautiful mix of peonies, roses, and dahlias and the girls carried baby’s breath and pink rose bouquets.
Lea and Michael were super emotional during their first look, it was so sweet. They didn’t say much, they were just taking in the moment and all we heard was a lot of sniffling and kissing.
Mallard Island’s grounds were breathtaking, as always, and everything was in full bloom. The green shrubs and flowers made a beautiful backdrop for pictures! Did I mention it was about 100 degrees out? Although it was hot and sticky and everyone was pretty sweaty, no one complained once, which was so nice! They have such a sweet group of friends..they were all great and fun to be around, they even carried around a selfie stick for most of the day to get a bunch of silly pics as well.
The boathouse chapel is right on the water and provided a breathtaking setting for their ceremony. Michael was just the sweetest. Although he had already seen Lea at their first look, he couldn’t hold back his tears while she walked down the aisle towards him. In fact, the couple cried together while exchanging their vows and rings. During the prayer they stood holding hands, forehead to forehead with their eyes closed..it was very emotional.
After they said their I do’s, we walked over to the private beach on the estate and took a few more pictures of the couple and the bridal party before heading into the reception. The ballroom was decorated with gorgeous floral centerpieces with crystals hanging from them, signs with flowers, and gold sequins tablecloths. The best man, Dan, and maid of honor, Melanie, both gave really great speeches and had everyone laughing. Their guests were having a ball in the photo booth and danced all night long without missing a beat.
The night ended with a beautiful night shot out by the boathouse.
Lea and Michael had one of my favorite hashtags as well…#LeaSaysIChu
Everyone calls these two a “power couple” and now I see why! Congratulations Mr and Mrs Chu!
