Mallard Island Yacht Club Wedding
NJ Wedding Photographer
I never met Allison and Michael until their wedding day, as they booked me over the phone. When I spoke to her, she had a firecracker personality like me, so I knew we were going to get along great! LOL
The week leading up to the wedding it was suppose to rain (what else is new in NJ!), but she stayed calm, cool, and collected the whole time and just said we can take photos inside if we have to, since the venue has so many picturesque spots anyway. Turns out it never rained..just cold and windy..but Ali, Mike, and the entire bridal party just went with the flow and never complained once! As soon as Ali told me that she had giant balloons being delivered, I knew these pictures were going to be epic! Plus, it’s basically impossible to take anything short of amazing photos at Mallard Island, or any of the Weddings of Distinction properties for that matter LOL

Those bridal details though!!!! I loved the contrast of the black background against the magenta ribbon and light pink florals!
The postcards were a cute touch paired with the hers and his ring dishes from BHLDN
The bridal suite at Mallard Island is like no other I have ever seen..its just soooo pretty!
Guys: take note..every bride should get a pair of Jimmy Choos on her wedding day! 😉
Ali wanted to have a pillow fight with her sweet sister, Heather! What a fun group of girls!
This picture cracks me up! Allison and her mom were laughing so hard, it was hilarious!
The many faces of Ali…what a ham!
Obsessing over these groom detail shots that Christy took!
The bridal prep was running behind by about an hour, and Michael was just staring at the stone fireplace forever! hahahaha (poor guy!)Allison still took her time to take in the moment by stopping to smell the roses…literally!
Mike shed some tears at the sight of his bride-to-be! Ugh, always gets me when the groom cries! The first look is definitely one of my favorite parts of the day because its such a “real” moment of raw emotion.
They couple has a cute special handshake that they did after the first look
Such a classic, timeless photo that this sweet couple will cherish forever!
Ali told me that morning that she had never modeled before..I still don’t believe her! LOL I told her that she must have done a lot of posing in front of the mirror! Seriously, this girl didn’t need ANY direction from me! She was born to be a bride!
After a bunch of formal photos, the couple took a quick break to pre-game before the ceremony and chug a beer…they are too funny!
My favorite detail of the wedding by far! These giant Mr and Mrs balloons were awesome!!!! It wasn’t easy getting these shots as I had a couple of helpers holding the balloons and then running out of the shot before the next strong wind gust came! But sooo worth the patience, because they were some of the best pictures of the day! And wait until you see the rest of the balloons….
Allison said she wanted some editorial/Vogue-like photos of the bridal party…nailed it! 🙂
This photo screams “magazine cover”! A gorgeous couple, awesome balloons, handsome groomsmen, pretty bridesmaids in sparkly silver dresses with fur shawls, and a stunning venue…what more could you ask in a wedding photo?
These Adrianna Papell bridesmaid dresses were to die for, and they looked amazing next to the pink floral bouquets!
The venue had a lemonade stand set up for the guests before the ceremony started
The boathouse chapel at Mallard Island Yacht Club is one of the prettiest ceremony locations in NJ. Each couple can make it their own by adding different elements to the stone fireplace mantle and I am always curious to see what they do because no two weddings are ever the same. For Allison and Michal’s wedding, they chose to hang a gold picture frame filled with fresh florals of all different shades of pink flowers. It gave such a great pop of color to the pictures!
After the ceremony we took family portraits. Since it’s so rare nowadays to have both sets of parents still married, I asked them what the secret to marriage was. They said “always laugh” and “be best friends”. I can totally see that in both their parents through the whole day. After spending only a few hours with Ali and Mike, I can tell they are going to follow in the parents footprints!
The Mallard Island ballroom is breathtaking. The gold chairs, chandeliers and beautifully decorated tables always make for stunning photos
The newlyweds danced to Frank Sinatra’s “The way you look tonight”, and I was able to run upstairs and get some great shots from the balcony overlooking the dance floor
Allison and Michal are going on their honeymoon to South Africa and Mozambique in June! #tancful4love

The wedding was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. From the first glass of champagne, the ceremony on the water, the cocktail hour, the chamber music, the great banquet with a super band, then to the after party. WHAT breakfast the next morning!
It was filled with happiness, FUN and beauty. Mallord is just the perfect place to have a wedding.
