How did you meet?
“We met at Karaoke!! He then forgot my name and we didn’t see each other for 6 months. When we did meet again he was in a relationship, then I was in one so we became friends. Years later when we were both single we started dating.”
The Proposal!
“He proposed at Pier A in Hoboken looking at the NY skyline. When we met we both lived in Hoboken and we used to go for walks together even before we were dating. After there was a surprise party at our townhouse.” Tell us about all the details of the wedding!
“I wanted it to feel ethereal. I wanted the details to be thought of and each surface to be considered. The centerpieces had a large raised piece with three smaller centerpieces below, hanging candles, and also candlesticks. An ugly exit door behind the band was covered with an ivy wall and monogram. The sweetheart table had a gate backdrop with flowers. The aisle had a garland runner which continued up the chuppah. The chuppah was a big deal. Most people put a standard one under the existing structure and apparently no one has ever thought before to actually make the structure into a chuppah. I wanted flowing fabric, flowers, and a chandelier. Even the ketubah is hand made and die cut. I tried to really think of every detail aesthetically (since you know, I’m an interior designer) and have everything coordinate while looking elegant and natural.”
Favorite moment of the day?
“Crying walking down the aisle trying to still smile with my parents beside me and Ariel ahead of me. Also, when we nailed our first dance lift haha!” Why did you pick your venue?
“I really wanted to get married in a garden and the landscaping in the back reminded me a bit of a manicured English garden. Also, I wanted a TON of chandeliers inside haha and it is generally a really beautiful venue and have great Kosher food.”
Where are you going on your honeymoon?
“We were supposed to go to Bali but the earthquakes caused us to find a back-up plan so we went to Mexico for 10 days!”
