Vintage Themed Engagement Session

This amazing vintage themed engagement session was inspired by the movie The Notebook. A canoe, vintage suitcases, tea party, Jeff cap & a beach cruiser all gave this session just the right amount of old time character. Megan’s aunt lives in a lakeside community so we were able to shoot in this quiet little community! Jim rocked his fedora while Megan wore the perfect vintage bathing suit paired with a scarf that she later swapped out for a sun hat. They frolicked in the sand and took the canoe out for a bit which was super fun! I mean, what girl is confident enough to have her engagement photos taken while in a bathing suit?!?! And she totally owned it too! Megan and Jim also got a few (cheeky) shots with the beach cruiser before changing outfits!

Next, the couple wore some vintage clothing that Megan picked up at a local thrift shop. Jim wore a Jeff cap and a floppy, velvet bowtie with suspenders and plaid socks while Megan wore a pale pink sweater with pearls, a cute hat and old black heels. They paired this look with a rustic bistro set, some antique suitcases and a tea party set up. Jim was really into ready the newspaper and joking about relationships in the 1950’s…while Megan was enjoying hamming it up for the camera!
Lastly, Megan changed into a cute yellow dress with a high waisted belt. They took the beach cruiser down to the lake as the sun was setting.
The grand finale was a few epic shots recreating the iconic scene from the movie The Notebook! I think they nailed it…what do you think?

This was by far one of my favorite sessions I’ve ever photographed! Thank you Megan and Jim for putting this all together with such thought and detail! I am so beyond excited for their vintage themed wedding next year at the Peter Allen House in PA!
