Elegant Summer Mallard Island Yacht Club Wedding

I absolutely adore Megan and Tyler! They are such a wonderful couple – and I fell in love with them both during their engagement session last year. Tyler is an ICU nurse and Megan is a doctor! They are 2 of the most caring, genuine people I’ve ever met! Fast forward to their Mallard Island Yacht Club wedding day and it was just as sweet as they are!

Summer Wedding Inspiration

Megan and Tyler created a wedding day that was beautiful and leaned into the most gorgeous summer palette – including lots of light blues and purples. Paired with white and silver accents, everything felt so elegant and effortlessly timeless for their Mallard Island Yacht Club wedding day. I’m still obsessed with their absolutely beautiful invitation suite – including the watercolor painting on the liner of their navy envelopes. This might be one of my favorite trends ever! I also loved the perfume bottle that Megan added their wedding date to. It’s those little details that really come together to make an unforgettable day.

Inspiration for Wedding Looks

Megan actually had two looks for their wedding day. First, was her traditional wedding gown. It was strapless with a lace overlay and a short veil paired perfectly. Tyler was adamant that he did not any hints about what her dress looked like and wanted it to be a full surprise the day of their wedding. He was definitely surprised and cried when he saw his beautiful bride during their first look!!! It was the sweetest. Later during the reception, Megan slipped out and changed into a short sparkly white dress and flip flops to party in. Tyler was surprised yet again and I just love how genuinely he reacted to both of her looks. It was such a beautiful and special moment for them!

Mallard Island Yacht Club Wedding

I’ve captured many weddings here at Mallard Island Yacht Club – several just this summer alone – but I won’t complain. This is one of my favorite New Jersey wedding venues! There’s so many beautiful spots around the venue for portraits, from the chapel to the dock and waterfront. Megan and Tyler were amazing – wanting to spend time together all over the property for their photos! They were even excited to go back out at sunset to the dock and small beach along the water so we could do some drone shots. I love the ones that really make them look like they’re out to see. Stunning and definitely one of my favorite photos of the whole day!

Honestly though, my favorite part of Megan and Tyler’s wedding day was their reception. It was amazing and so much fun. Megan and Tyler really brought their personalities and interests to the celebration. One of the best parts was the huge photo of their cats that they displayed above the fireplace – so funny and a cute way to include their furry babies! Megan and Tyler also opted to have a live band (who were PHENOMENAL!). They really got the crowd going – especially when their trombone player was literally crawling around the floor and doing situps while playing. Amazing, ha! Megan and Tyler are Swifties, just like me, so I even got to dance with them to a few Taylor Swift songs throughout the night. It was a great time!

Megan and Tyler, your wedding day was so memorable and a lot of fun. I am so happy I got to celebrate with you both and wish you a beautiful lifetime of love together! Congratulations again!
