Congratulations, Christie and Jeff! The newest Mr. and Mrs. planned a super fun summer wedding at the Refinery at Perona Farms. The entire day was an absolute blast, because Christie and Jeff are very laid back. I LOVE how much they laugh together – and capturing them having fun all day was such a special gift for me.

Summer Wedding at the Refinery at Perona Farms

Christie and Jeff’s wedding was absolutely stunning. They used a summer palette for the day, filled with black, ivory, and a deep green. It was seriously gorgeous. When I arrived, Christie was prepping with her ladies and I began to work on photographing her details. I was absolutely obsessed with the emerald green ring box she had for her jewelry! It’s such a vibrant color!! She works out a lot, so we made sure to include her resistance bands in some of her photos – even her little flower girl wanted to use them, too. It was such a perfect nod to what matters to her!

Christie had a first look with her dad, which was extra special since their wedding day was on Father’s Day. It was a beautiful moment for her and her father! When he turned around to see her, she hugged him and whispered “Happy Father’s Day, dad”. I made me tear up!

After she was ready, we headed to meet Jeff on a little path on the property. Before he saw her, we asked him what he thought her dress might look like. He absolutely nailed it! It was actually a little funny how well he knew her. They were overjoyed to see each other and couldn’t stop snuggling up. It was the perfect start to their wedding day! I love the property – there’s wildflowers, a beautiful greenhouse, and so many sweet spots to capture portraits. Christie and Jeff were amazing the whole time.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

They held their ceremony at the Refinery at Perona Farms. I absolutely love this courtyard! It’s so beautiful and it’s nice to have a ceremony outdoors, especially in the Summer. Christie carried her stunning wildflower bouquet down the aisle to meet Jeff. Her bouquet has to be one of my favorites from my 2023 brides so far! It’s absolutely gorgeous!!! After the vows were exchanged, Christie and Jeff were both SO excited. The happiness on their faces is truly unreal. Christie made everyone laugh by saying “that was fire” after Jeff’s vows. It was hilarious! Again, you can see how much fun they had during their entire wedding day.

Summer Wedding Reception in NJ

The beautiful green and white color palette followed the guests into the reception space at the Refinery. Each seat had a beautiful green menu card and fresh sprigs of green on the place setting, too. It was all so beautiful. The reception was a lot of fun too. One of the best moments was actually when Christie cut her wedding dress! She didn’t bustle her gown and instead, followed the trend of cutting the dress! With the help of her MOH, they cut the train off so she could enjoy dancing the night away. Honestly, it was super fun! After she was done, I stole her and Jeff away for a few sunset portraits to end the night – one of my favorite parts about summer wedding days! We had the most gorgeous golden hour sunset portraits together and it was the perfect way to end the evening.
