Carlie and Vincent are MARRIED! Last Summer, I photographed their stunning coastal inspired wedding day at Bonnet Island Estate. Carlie and Vincent dreamed of a wedding day that was romantic and filled with vintage details that celebrated LBI. One of the things I loved most about Carlie and Vincent’s wedding day was how much they leaned into the coastal vibes. From the colors they chose – tan, hints of pink, and other oceanic colors to their incredible oyster seating chart (that Vincent built!), this wedding day definitely reminded us all of the beach.

The other best part about Carlie and Vincent’s wedding day was that they truly brought together their families. Each of them have sons – who are now brothers – and it was wonderful to watch the newlyweds and their boys come together as a family throughout the day.

How did you meet?

One morning in early December, we met over the strongest cup of espresso Vincent made which was equal parts sugar. After that morning, we knew there was no chance we were letting each other go.

The Proposal

Fourth of July morning started as an early morning fishing trip on Corson’s Inlet & turned into the most perfect proposal. One of us was determined to catch the most fish, the other had a ring in their pocket waiting for the right plane to fly above us. When the time came, Vincent pointed out the banner flying over our heads and went down on one knee. Carlie went fishing for a bass and caught a rock. 💎

Tell us about your photography experience with Susan!

We knew we were in the best hands after our first meeting with Susan. After we had MOST incredible engagement photo session on a sailboat and saw how the photos were an actual dream come true, we knew the wedding photos would be no different! There is no one that can do it better than Susan.

Why did you pick your venue?

Growing up on the Cape of New Jersey with wetlands as our backyards, we knew Bonnet Island would be the perfect place to capture our love for the marsh reeds in addition to the elegance and romance the estate emanates.

Tell us about all the details of the wedding!

Our greatest inspiration for our wedding details was Bonnet Island Estate itself. After touring the estate, the vintage aesthetic decor with a nautical twist was a dream and we wanted to build on that! We fell in love with the idea of oysters early in the wedding planning process which led to our greatest accomplishment – the oyster seating chart! We additionally had hand ripped menus to mimic old nautical maps, vintage oyster tins, and fishing decor.

Favorite moment of the day?

Our first kiss. Inside a warm candle lit boathouse chapel on a blustery, rainy day was the MOST perfect and intimate setting to marry the love of your life. The kiss that concluded the perfect ceremony was the best moment of the day!
