Josh+Carlo :: Two Grooms Are Better Than One :: Long Island Sound :: New Rochelle, NY

Josh and Carlo met in 2011 through a gay singles social network online. The couple dated for 4 years before Josh proposed at a U2 concert as “With or Without You” was playing. (so sweet!)
Last year I photographed Josh’s cousin’s wedding..and he was the best man. He contacted me shortly after and asked me to photograph their wedding, I was so excited, as this was such a great couple! A few months later I photographed their engagement session, which was on a sailboat in the NY harbor. It was then that the 3 of us got to know each other a little better and I couldn’t wait for their wedding! Josh and I exchanged many emails, texts, and phone calls going over all the details and making sure this wedding was going to be perfect..which it was!
The days leading up to the wedding had us all stressed out because of the weather: severe thunderstorms. They bought umbrellas and planned accordingly. When the day finally came, the rain was on and off day, so it wasn’t a total washout. They shared their first look outside in front of the gorgeous fountains, and we were able to do many formals and bridal party pictures outside! The only thing that didn’t work out was the outdoor ceremony..but hey, at least we had some outdoor pictures, so they were very happy about that!
The bridal party was great..there were 3 groomsmen and 3 groomsmaids on each side. We started referring to them as “Josh’s squad” and “Carlo’s squad”! (#squadgoals) They were all super sweet and just went with the flow, it was really nice. Josh and Carlo started the day with matching black Hugo Boss tuxedos and white bow ties, they both looked like models..so handsome!
When it came time for the Ketubah signing, Josh’s grandmother (who is 86 years old) joined us via iPad because she didn’t want to miss it! Afterwards, they had a Jewish ceremony under a gorgeous Chuppah, made of birch branches, fabric, and flowers that matched the groomsmaid’s bouquets. The Rabbi was really cool, and made several funny jokes, and even read the couple’s vows for them.
The cocktail hour was on a huge porch off the venue with an amazing view of the Long Island Sound! Right before the reception, the grooms changed into royal blue tuxedo jackets! OMG, they look stunning!!! They made their grand entrance into the room to the voice of Michael Buffer.. “Lets get ready to rumble“. That song ended and Jay Z’s “I got 99 problems but a b*tch ain’t one” played as they entered wearing a custom wrestling belt with their pictures on it! It was one of the best entrances I have ever seen! The newlyweds danced on clouds to “Your song” by Elton John. Evan, from Posh DJs, had the party cranking right from the start..literally every person was dancing! People were dancing on the speakers and just having so much fun really celebrating these two men! During dinner we noticed there was a bit of a commotion going on in the room, so we ran over to see what it was! A double rainbow!!! Of course we quickly grabbed our cameras and were able to get a few shots! The best, and craziest, part of the night was when two robots (yes, robots!) entered the room!!! They were all lit up in flashing LED outfits! One was on stilts and the other one had drums! It was insane!!! They were spraying the crowd with Co2 guns! I have never seen anything like that in my life..it was EPIC!
This was one of my favorite weddings so far this season, I am so happy for Josh and Carlo and wish them nothing but a lifetime of love! The happy couple will honeymoon in Hawaii.
