Ok seriously, Leigh and Chris are amazing..period. End of blog. haha!
Since they booked me over the phone (we hit it off instantly while talking!), I had never met Leigh and Chris until their wedding day! The bride and groom have so many friends that there was no way they could have them ALL in the wedding, so they chose to just have their siblings and keep it simple. Since her sister, Katie, was the lone female member of the bridal party, the house was pretty calm in the morning. Leigh’s mom is just the sweetest! She was running around making sure everything was just perfect for her daughter all morning. They truly have such a tight family, and I picked up on that after being in the house for only a few minutes. Leigh told me that while planning her wedding she really didn’t know what dress she wanted, or where to have the reception..but the one thing she did know was that she wanted lots of peony flowers, and OMG did she get them!!! Wait until you see these bouquets! She had the best details too! Rose gold wedding rings, a rose gold necklace that Chris gave her on her birthday, and a cool glass ring box. We also incorporated her grandma’s table runner and wedding ring into the pictures as well, which meant a lot to the family.
The bride decided she wanted to do their first look and all their pictures in her parents AMAZING backyard. Chris had proposed to Leigh there next to the wooden bench, so it was a really special location for them. The weather was calling for severe thunderstorms all day, but the rain held out for the pictures. Chris looked great in his navy blue Ted Baker suit, and was so excited to see his bride..you could feel their love for one another just watching them interact. Leigh has such an infectious smile and the two of them are just too funny, they had us laughing the whole time..we really enjoyed being with them all day. After their formals, we photographed their families very quickly then ran inside just in time as the rain started coming down.
We headed to their church, which was soooo pretty!!!! The outside had beautiful grounds and a lake with a fountain in the front. Inside, it was nice and bright and the aisles were lined with little white wooden baskets filled with more peonies! Leigh looked beautiful walking down the aisle with her proud daddy next to her. They had a really sweet Catholic ceremony. The priest even included a shout out to the photographers and other vendors of the day, including the limo driver LOL. He was really cool!
Afterwards, we took some gorgeous shots of the new Mr and Mrs outside the church with the Rolls Royce before heading to the venue.
They had their reception at The Stone House at Stirling Ridge. I love this place! The maitre D, Frank, is always so helpful and accommodating when we are there. The ballroom looked
uh-mazingggg! Every table had a different centerpiece with peonies and candles. Leigh and Chris had a handwritten note to EACH couple on every table! It was sweet! Oh, and each guest got a temporary tattoo that had Chris and Leigh’s face drawn with the date, so naturally I asked for one and now have their faces on my wrist! LOL The back of the room had a beautiful gold card box and their wedding cake, which was lined with….more peonies! Leigh also had a groom’s cake made for Chris that had all his sports teams on it, he loved it!
After the newlyweds entered the room and had their first dance, it was time for the speeches. Leigh’s dad stood up and talked about his immense love for his daughter and how he was so proud of her and Chris. Apparently, Leigh is a super talented lawyer at a big firm in NJ, and Chris is an assistant prosecutor! I had no idea until I heard him say that! Chris’ brother, Eugene, had the crowd laughing during his speech and reminisced of past times. I think the highlight of the reception was when Leigh’s sister, Katie, gave her toast. She has a little girl, Emmy, who is 3 years old, and had asked her questions about marriage and brides and such, and then read her answers out loud. It was both hilarious and sweet.
The couple had an awesome band that played and sang all night. They were really great and had the best energy, they were even standing on chairs singing to the crowd, and the lead singer had one heck of a voice! At one point they handed the mic to Leigh, and man that girl can sing!!!!! Chris was showing off his stellar dance moves with various guests through the evening, and everyone was having a ball in the photo booth!
Words can not express how much I loved this couple and how great their wedding was..I’m so happy I got to be a part of it!
Chris and Leigh are going to Thailand in January for their honeymoon.
