The Hamilton Manor Rustic Fall Wedding
Hamilton Township, NJ Photographer
This wedding at The Hamilton Manor had all the feels! It was the very last wedding for us this year and man did we go out with a BANG! Ha and Robert had a super early start to their day because their first look was at 9am! The reason for this was they were having a traditional tea ceremony that morning! Ha really wanted Robert to see her FIRST in her wedding gown, so I put the bride in my car, and off we went to a park down the road for their first look! Afterwards, we went back to her house and she changed into her beautiful hot pink Vietnamese dress (called a Ao Dai), she looked so beautiful! Next we headed over to Ha’s parents house for the tea ceremony. It was so cool! The groomsmen arrived with “gifts” they handed off to the bridesmaids, who were waiting outside with all the guests. After the gift giving, the bridesmaids made Robert and his groomsmen complete a series of funny little ‘games” that he had to complete before he could head inside to his waiting bride-to-be. A few of the games involved the groom and his guys doing push ups and singing a song for the crowd, all the while Ha watched out the window from inside the house. Before the guests headed inside, fireworks were set off in the front yard and tons of confetti was shot into the air! It was awesome! Inside, during the tea ceremony, one by one their relatives took turns greeting the couple and offering gifts and advice to the bride and groom. Now it was time for Ha to change back into her wedding gown and head off to Princeton University for their portrait session! Ha and Robert had a pretty small bridal party, which is always my favorite! This group was a trip! They had quite a bit to drink through the entire day and then even more on the limo ride over to Princeton so they were hilarious when they got there, I really had a blast with them! The backdrop of the University paired with the GORGEOUS mismatched blue bridesmaid’s dresses just looked so amazing!!! The girl’s bouquets were to die for! No seriously, they were amazing! My favorite part of the bouquets were the ribbons! Now, I know I always say that because I’m obsessed with bouquets with ribbons, BUT…Ha used the scraps from her bridesmaids dress (when they were hemmed) as the ribbons for her bridal bouquet! How freaking cool is that???? We kicked back and walked around the campus making the most of the time we had and got some really beautiful photos! At the end I was able to get a few cute shots of them running down the busy streets of downtown Princeton toward Palmer Square.
Next we headed to the venue and got ready for their stunning ceremony inside the barn. The aisles were lined with rose petals and candles, and there were hanging string lights and wine barrels with tall centerpieces. After the couple exchanged their vows and headed back down the aisle, guests set off more confetti, which made for killer photos! The reception took place in the Hamilton Manor’s grand ballroom. The room had purple uplighting and was decorated with pretty floral centerpieces, lanterns, garland, huge chandeliers, and cute hand painted table numbers. The newlyweds danced the night away with all their friends and family and even went from table to table doing shots with each group LOL. Toward the end of the night we snuck outside with the bridal party to take some sparkler photos and a few night shots. The evening ended with the couple cutting their wedding cake..which was unbelievable!!! They actually had 3 cakes and each was prettier than the next!
Ha and Robert really put a lot of though into every single detail of this wedding. I was swooning over all the bridal details..from the invitation to the bridal gown, the bridesmaids gowns, her Kate Spade shoes, and the stunning florals. It was a super long wedding day, This wedding was probably the longest one I have ever done, and I’d do it all over again for this sweet couple! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Lau!
The newlyweds honeymooned in Turks and Caicos!
