Tell us about all the details of the wedding!
Our wedding was boho chic inspired. Cowhide rugs, pampas grass, peacock chairs and leather with mauve, mustard and earthy tones. We wanted everything to look simple so that the venue and the beautiful weather wouldn’t be out played.
How did you meet?
We met right before we started high school. I was starting at a new school (his high school), and we met on a camping trip with some of our family and friends.
The Proposal!
Evan took me to one of my favorite hiking spots in upstate NY in the middle of July. There are endless views and the most amazing cliffs. He wanted to wait until he finished with his state trooper academy, but he just couldn’t wait any longer. He came home one weekend and took me to that spot. It was definitely a surprise!
Favorite moment of the day?
We had two favorite moments of the day…. the first look and the ceremony. The first look was just such a precious moment we got to have to ourselves. The ceremony was probably number one. All of our closest family and friends nestled in a garden with the most amazing backdrop. The sun was shining. Everyone had a smile on their face and a tear in their eye. Everything was so simple, yet so elegant.
Why did you pick your venue?
Back story… When we moved into our first apartment, we used to drive past this cute little farm with a farmhouse. What I mean when I say cute and little is absolutely stunning farm house and 3 barns to go with it. The views are to die for and it is peaceful. On weekends or holidays we would drive past the venue (not even knowing it was a wedding venue) gasping at its beauty saying that one day we would just drive down the long driveway and ask to tour the property. Several months in to driving past the venue, we heard someone saying that they had just gone to this gorgeous wedding and started to describe the venue. We were in shock when we discovered that it was a wedding venue, and that very next weekend we called to schedule a tour and booked our date.
