How did you meet?

We met on Bumble in the early fall of 2015. We both had a habit of letting our friends play the game of swiping, so it is hard to say whether or not we found each other. At any rate, we hit it off. Our first date was in September 2015. We met for drinks in Hoboken, and from that Friday afternoon, the rest was history. Flash forward five years later to Manasquan summers, Friday and Saturday nights in God’s Basement at The Parker House, yearly vacations around the world, and a French Bulldog puppy named after our favorite alcohol (love ya, Tito!). It is safe to say that we would not “bee” together without Bumble!

Tell us about the proposal!

On Sunday October 11, 2020, Jared told me we were going to meet his family for his mom’s birthday dinner in Asbury Park. The night was going to start off with a cocktail at the Watermark and then a dinner in town. Upon arrival at the bar, we walked upstairs, and there were no family members to be seen. We were led to the back of the bar, where there were rose petals and flowers laid out on the deck overlooking the ocean and the Asbury Park boardwalk. Still clueless, I said, “Wow! They set this up so nice for your mom’s birthday!” To which Jared replied, “Take off the mask,” and dropped down to one knee! I was shocked! Minutes later, my whole family and his whole family came outside on the deck with us to celebrate! I could not have asked for anything more.

Tell us about your experience working with Susan!

Picking Susan to spend not only our wedding day with us, but also our engagement shoot was the best decision we have EVER made. She was the first vendor we booked! From the very beginning Susan was extremely sweet, personable and easy to get along with. She was extremely helpful and partnered with us when determining other vendors to book. We constantly had an open line of communication during the months leading up to the big day and she also made sure our day was prioritized from start to finish. Not only was she a great person to work with, but she also made sure our big day was fun and filled with laughter and love rather than the monotony and the stress that can come with wedding pictures. What I love the most about Susan is that even after the big day, we still keep in contact. Susan was phenomenal to work with and have by my side during the day.

Why did you pick your venue?

Growing up in Rumson, the town is very special to me. We had our ceremony at Holy Cross Church, which is where I received my sacraments, attended grades kindergarten to 8th, and even taught there for 3 years (1 year in kindergarten and 2 years in 3rd grade). Our reception was at the Rumson Country Club Riverhouse. We picked this spot since it is a spot we frequent together as a couple with my parents. We love going to the Riverhouse for dinners and cocktails in the summer. My whole entire life I knew I wanted to get married there. The stunning views and spectacular staff were an added plus to the many memories we share there as a couple.

Favorite moment of the day?

Our favorite moment of the day was having everyone we love and adore together with us in one room. Before the big day, we were told to take a second and just glance around and look at all the people we are with. There will never be another day when all those people are together in one room again. By taking a few seconds and looking around, we realized how much we are truly loved by so many people. By having all those people with us on such a monumental day in our life, we are truthfully really blessed.
