The Mill Lakeside Manor Wedding :: New Jersey Wedding Photographer

Seth was spending the weekend in Atlantic City for his friend – Adam Hammer’s – bachelor party. Jillian happened to be spending the weekend in Atlantic City as well for her sister’s bachelorette party. The two ended at the same nightclub on Saturday night and both parties pulled together a dance circle on the dance floor. Once Jillian saw Seth’s moves, she knew she had to talk to him. After a night of dancing, they ended up exchanging numbers and Seth visited Jillian in Philadelphia a few weeks later. They haven’t gone a day without talking to each other since that night and the rest is history.

Seth and Jillian planned to spend their second-anniversary having dinner at one of their favorite restaurants in Long Branch, NJ – Sirena’s. Seth purposely parked a few blocks away from the restaurant so they were forced to walk on the boardwalk to get to the restaurant. Jillian was a little suspicious when Seth told her they were going to walk under the gazebo and as soon as she saw the rose petals and lanterns set up, her heart dropped. Their families were on top of a nearby rooftop cheering after Jillian said yes and they spent the rest of the night celebrating with friends at Seth’s parent’s house.

Since we met and got engaged down the shore we knew we wanted to find a venue that was close to the shore as well. The Mill Lakeside Manor was the first of 12 (!!) venues that we toured and after all 12 tours, we couldn’t stop thinking about the first venue we looked at and fell in love with it. it was going through some renovations at the time we booked but we were really able to see how it fit with our vision. Plus it had an amazing cocktail hour and since we’re huge foodies that was one of the most important things to us (if not the most important) when looking at venues.

Since we had to postpone our wedding from 2020, Jillian had a lot (almost too much) time to envision the day and changed a few things along the way but we always knew we wanted a simple, summer wedding with neutral colors and didn’t want anything too crazy fancy. the most important thing to us what that our guests had fun and ate a lot of good food (and drinks!) We told our DJ we met in a nightclub and wanted to basically recreate that atmosphere and he did not disappoint. We told him we wanted everyone on the dancefloor the entire time and it was perfect.

Favorite moment of the day?
