Renaissance Aruba Wedding on Flamingo Island | Rikki & Chris

Rikki and Chris are married! They had the most incredible wedding in Aruba and I’m honestly SO obsessed with every detail of their tropical wedding day on the beach. Rikki and Chris actually booked me for their wedding day while I was in Aruba two years ago at the same location. So, it was exciting to know I’d be back at the Renaissance Aruba for their celebration! I’ve also photographed one of her bridesmaid’s weddings, which was a blast. Obviously, I was ready for Rikki and Chris’ wedding and I knew it would be a truly amazing time (and I was right!). Rikki and Chris have the best friends and family and because of them, their destination wedding was something special!

Renaissance Aruba Wedding Day

The day of Rikki and Chris’ wedding was actually super hot, ha! Thankfully Flamingo Island had some nice (but strong!) winds, but it was definitely a warm day. Rikki decided on a sleek bun to keep her hair out of her face with the wind (and heat). My girl looked STUNNING!!!! Chris chose a tan suit for himself and his groomsmen, which was perfect for a beach wedding. His 9 year old son, Marco, was his best man. Marco was hilarious – I loved capturing his little personality all day long!

Rikki and Chris decided to have a first look at the resort before we traveled over to the private island where their ceremony and reception would be held. I love that we did their first look at the Renaissance Aruba, because it’s such a gorgeous resort! One of my favorite parts of their newlyweds photos was using the Barbie setup in the lobby of the hotel! Rikki and Chris got married as the movie came out and Rikki looks so much like a beautiful Barbie doll, that I couldn’t resist posing them in the pink Barbie box! It was so cute! After we were done playing around, Rikki and Chris got on their boat for the ride over to the island. Some of the photos of them on the boat turned out to be my absolute favs from the day!

Flamingo Island Wedding Ceremony and Reception

When I say I’m obsessed with weddings at the Renaissance Aruba, I’m not lying. This was my second time here and I’m already ready to go back again! Wedding ceremonies are held on Flamingo Island, the resort’s private land, so it’s really unique and private for couples tying the knot. After arriving on the island, I stole Rikki and Chris away for a few more photos before their ceremony. The flamingos on the island were amazing (and super friendly!) and we made sure to capture portraits of them with the beautiful orange birds.

One of my favorite parts of the day was the floral arch for Rikki and Chris’ ceremony on the beach. I was absolutely obsessed with it! It looked perfect and was a great backdrop for their vows. The rest of the night was spent celebrating under the string lights, with their family and friends… with a surprise visit from the flamingos, who photobombed the cake cutting later in the evening! We also spent some time at sunset with the birds and that was definitely my favorite part of the day. I felt like I was dreaming!!

Congratulations, Rikki and Chris! Your tropical island wedding in Aruba is one I’ll be thinking about for a long time – it was SO perfect! I wish you two a lifetime full of love together.
