Spring Wedding at the Ashford Estate | Kara & Rob

Congratulations to Kara and Rob! The newlyweds hosted a spring wedding at the Ashford Estate on one of the rainiest days we’ve seen so far this year. Yet, despite the weather, their celebration was so full of joy and happiness. Kara and Rob’s day was filled with high fashion, the sweetest personal details, and lots of bright pink florals that brought the Ashford Estate’s space to life.

Spring Wedding at Ashford Estate

The day started off dry, but overcast, and we were able to get a few portraits of Kara and her ladies outside the estate house before the rain came in. She showed off her bridal robe that was made from her mom’s wedding dress. I think that’s such a fun idea/trend for brides these days!! After the ladies popped some champagne, we took Kara back inside to get into her wedding gown.

Kara is a fashion girl, so her wedding gown was always something super important to her. Her dress had a custom created overskirt and it was STUNNING! She also had shoes custom made by LANVIN (and still has the original rendering of the shoe as well!). How amazing is that?! Her incredible shoes were covered in pearls, which was something she had throughout all of her details. It led to some really classic shots of their pink and white invitation suite, custom newspaper, and romantic jewelry (from Paris!).

Classic Wedding Day in New Jersey

With all the rain, we had to make some adjustments about where to do portraits but luckily the Ashford Estate has some gorgeous covered spaces on the property. We were able to capture some beautiful moments of Kara and Rob before their ceremony. Their ceremony was absolutely gorgeous! There were beautiful white flowers and lots of greenery everywhere you looked – especially over the stone fireplace. It was so romantic and classic!

If the ceremony was romantic, their reception was definitely where the party was! I loved the tambourines and maracas for guest to use to “Jam with the Jamesons” during reception, and also the unique idea of using glass cloches filled with florals to display the seating chart. Everything about Kara and Rob’s reception was about having a good time. Everything was so elegant and I absolutely LOVED the bow that Kara attached to her gown once she took the overskirt off for the reception! Kara and Rob had a blast and I loved getting to watch them enjoy the night with their loved ones!

Congratulations again, Kara and Rob. I’m so happy for you both and I love how beautifully your classic wedding day came together this spring! Thank you for letting me be a part of the celebration with you!
