Katelyn and Andy are getting married!!! This Summer, we met up on Long Beach Island. It’s a spot that is super special to this couple. So, it made perfect sense for their engagement session. Andy proposed to Katelyn quietly on Brant Beach, so it felt like a no-brainer to come back here for their engagement photos – and I’m so glad they did. There is truly nothing like a beach session for my couples who love LBI!  

Long Beach Island Engagement Session 

Katelyn’s dad has a house on Long Beach Island. Over their relationship, she and Andy have spent a lot of time here. In fact, Andy proposed on the beach. They didn’t have any photos of it, so we made sure to re-create the moment together on the sand. It was a lot of fun and probably one of my favorite moments of their session! Katelyn and Andy were absolute naturals in front of the camera – just letting their joy and happiness shine through. 

Katelyn had the cutest dresses. I love that she had a longer one and a short playful one to wear on the beach. It gave us a nice variety for their portraits! The layers on her second dress were SO fun! Andy is a Captain in the Navy, so they made sure to bring along Andy’s Navy uniform. It was a great way to honor his service. 

Katelyn and Andy, it was so fun spending the afternoon with you on the sand of Brant Beach. It was a perfect day – including the stunning sunset we were lucky enough to get! I can’t wait for the wedding!

Tell us about the proposal! 

Andy and I were having cocktails with our families on my dad’s patio in LBI on a beautiful Saturday evening in August. Andy walked up to me, kissed me on the forehead, and whispered in my ear asking me if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach with him. He totally caught me off guard! When we got on the beach he told me how much he loved me then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Andy didn’t want anyone to know he was proposing so no one we know saw it happen and we don’t have any pictures of it happening. I was wearing gym shorts and he was wearing board shorts! It was the most perfect, simple, and intimate proposal! 

What did you love most about your engagement session? 

I loved everything about the session! We got to laugh, kiss, spray champagne and we didn’t have to worry about how to pose because Susan told us exactly what to do! I loved knowing our photos would look amazing and they do!

What part of your wedding day are you looking forward to most? 

The huge smile on Andy’s face when he sees me for the first time on our wedding day!
